Tempranillo planted between 1978 and 1989 and the other varieties planted in 2004 at an altitude in between 560 to 750 m.
Vines are supported by vase and trellis, in a clay-calcareous and franc-clay soil.
Hand harvested and cooled in cold-storage rooms before going through the selection table.
Fermentation takes place at a temperature of 22-24°C. There is a short skin soaking with some oak in it.
A two month ageing in French oak.
Bottled in September 2011.
13,5% alcohol by vol.
The 2009 Drac Magic has an estuarine, brine-scented bouquet that is understated but blossoms with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a savoury tinged entry. It is very nicely balanced with a sense of femininity, caressing rather than overpowering the palate with its dark, herbaceous fruit.
Drink now-2016.
